Cricketers partying hard in Mumbai - 2 Jun 2008 - 262 Views

It’s the final leg of the IPL — the semi-finals and the grand finale tomorrow.

And while it’s all work on the field and in the nets, it’s all play at night. Some of the cricketers, some from the teams’ management and some of the team owners had a blast at a suburban five-star on Thursday night, celebrating the success of the IPL.

From Sharad Pawar to Lalit Modi to Dilip Vengsarkar to Tom Buchanan to Glenn McGrath, the who’s who of the cricket world were present. The two Shanes — Shane Warne and Shane Watson — left after a while, but most of the Indian players partied the night away. There was Yuvraj Singh, Anil Kumble, VRV Singh, Zaheer Khan, amongst other cricketers. Jai Mehta, Juhi Chawla’s husband, Mitali and Prahlad Kakar, Prasoon Pandey and Surily Goel were also present.

Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia were in high spirits, obviously excited that their team had made it to the semis. Preity was heard saying that she had thoroughly enjoyed her stint with cricket. And when asked about her Bollywood buddy Shah Rukh Khan, she said, “He’s my friend and I love him. It was bad luck that his team did not make it to the semis.”
